I'm still here

I know you guys probably thought I dropped off the face of the earth, but no such luck, I am still here.

After I got back from my sister's in Alabama, more crap happened here on the home front. It seems as if it just doesn't end.

I had been having a problem with my wrist so I went to the doc and he did an MRI and x-rays, etc. and said I had a ganglion cyst there. It had been caused by a trauma to the wrist 15 to 20 years ago. I can pinpoint that to a fall at the skating rink when a little boy came from behind me and knocked my feet out from under me, me landing on that hand and spraining the wrist pretty badly.

Anyway, since it was causing me pain, I decided to have it removed. Therefore a cut to the back of the wrist was done. In addition, I have carpel tunnel in that hand bothering me and a trigger thumb, so two more cuts, one to the palm near the wrist, one on the palm side of the thumb. AND, I made the mistake of telling him that my right two fingers and that side of the hand go numb so he tells me that is the ulnar nerve in the elbow. Thus the final and worse cut, the elbow has 16 staples in it. For all you people with weak stomachs, don't look at the pics here.

Well, I am 8 days post op, and am doing well. I can type, and use my right hand (I am right handed by-the-way) to do little things, but I can't grip anything yet, but it's getting better every day. Anyway, that is all about that.

We have had another death in our family and this one was sort of expected, but not completely. My nephew and his wife were expecting a baby in June. They had been told that the baby had a hernia and that all of her organs were pushed up into her chest. They had sent them to New Orleans about 2 weeks ago to put the mother to bed and had planned to take the baby in about 3 more weeks and do immediate surgery on her to repair the hernia and replace her organs.

However, on the 18th, Becky went into pre-mature labor and delivered a beautiful 3#11oz, 17" long baby girl. She had no diaphram and only a tiny piece of one lung. She lived for about 22 hours and then passed on. She couldn't be kept alive on the piece of the lung she had and her little body was toxic. Please say prayers for my nephew and his young wife. They are 20 and 19 years old themselves. This is a terrible thing for them to have to make such adult decisions about when they are so young. They buried the baby yesterday in Bossier City where they live.

That is one of God's little angels and she is with my Mom who is holding her in her arms right now. I know that.

I guess that is all for now, enough is enough. Our family has been through a lot already this year and it's only April. Pray for better times for us. We could use those prayers.

Good night.

Back home again
With my dogs in my lap watching a movie with Tom. I missed them (the dogs) and I missed my hubby.

I had a great time at my sister's house. We really didn't DO anything, just hung out together and went shopping at Target and Walmart, and visited with each other. Since she is temporarily disabled, and I am retired, we both don't have any big obligations or anything so it's nice to visit and not have any responsibilities.

I even stayed an extra few days because I was just enjoying being there with her. I got to hold HER new grandbaby and I am so jealous. I want grandchildren so badly. My daughter and her husband are working on one, but they better hurry up. I am getting very impatient. All my friends and family members have babies are there are babies on the way except for me! God just isn't ready for me to be grandma yet, so I will have to wait.

Just wanted to let y'all know I got back home safely.
